Requests for records are processed in the order received. It can take up to ten (10) business days to receive a response to a request for records.

The City can only provide records that exist at the time of the request and cannot create records to respond to a request.
Records will be made available in the format they exist at the time of the request. If the requestor would like to receive records in a different format, i.e. an excel spreadsheet v. paper copies of each record, the requestor is responsible for paying the labor costs associated with converting that information.
The City cannot research information and records for a requestor. The requestor must be specific regarding the record or information they are seeking.
The fees for the most commonly requested records are as follows:
Paper (8.5 x 11): .10 cents per page
Audio CD: $1.00
Video DVD (Non-Body Worn Camera Video): $3.00
Body Worn Camera Video: $10 per video plus $1.00 for each full minute of recording.
The City of Mansfield follows the cost schedule listed out in Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 70.
How you receive the records you requested depends on the type of record. All records can be picked up in person from the City Secretary’s Office. In certain situations records can be mailed. Fees for postage are the responsibility of the requestor. Additionally, some records can be emailed. The City does not email Police records.
