1. My kids attend Mansfield schools, am I considered a Mansfield resident?

Residency is based on your physical address. Mansfield residents have a 76063 ZIP code. The Mansfield Activities Center is funded by the half cent sales tax.

2. Do I need to come in to register for a program or activity?

No. You may register for all programs in person at the Mansfield Activities Center (MAC) or you may register for most programs online. You will need to have an established account with the MAC to register online. To obtain your login information, call the MAC at 817-728-3680 during business hours or use the "Forgot my password" feature of online registration if you previously provided your email on your membership waiver form since August 2014.

3. Can I pay for a program or activity with my credit card or debit card?

Yes, we take Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express with the appropriate identification.

4. How old do children have to be to stay at the MAC by themselves?

Children 8 years old and older can be at the Mansfield Activities Center (MAC) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. without parent supervision. After 6 p.m, children must be 13 years old and older to be at the MAC without parent supervision.

Children younger than the age requirements can be at the MAC if they are in a scheduled activity or class. If a parent is unable to attend with a child under 8 or 13 depending on the time of day, someone 21 years old or older needs to accompany the child.

5. Do I need to get my parents to sign me in at the Mansfield Activities Center (MAC)?

Yes, if you are 17 and under and do not have a current MAC card. We require that a waiver be signed for each membership purchased, whether it is an annual membership or a day pass.

Kids 17 and under with a current MAC card can enter for programs or open gym without a parent. Day pass purchases or new/renewal memberships require a parent or guardian present.

6. Is it really important that I bring my Mansfield Activities Center (MAC) card every time and scan it?

Yes! We ask that you scan your card so we have a history of attendance. Also, for security reasons, we need to know who is in our building.

7. Who maintains the right-of-way?

Questions regarding mowing in the right-of-way should be directed to the Parks Department. It is a City ordinance that property owners are responsible for mowing and maintenance up to the curb or to the edge of the pavement.

8. What hours are the Senior Lifestyles program available?

We have programmed activities from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Some special classes start in the afternoons but for the most part the activities take place in the mornings.

9. How much does it cost to participate in the Senior Lifestyles program?

Most senior activities are free but some classes have a fee associated with them.

10. What type of programs and activities are offered for seniors?

11. Do you offer tax preparation services for seniors?

The City of Mansfield partners with AARP who provides a qualified tax preparer from February 1 to April 15 for free tax return preparation for seniors and low income individuals. Appointments are made at the Mansfield Activities Center.

12. My parent is in a wheelchair, has had a stroke and cannot feed himself. Can he participate in the Seniors Lifestyle program?

Seniors who come to the center must be able to take care of their own personal needs, such as going to the restroom and feeding themselves, or have a caretaker with them at all times. We welcome all levels of ability.

13. I have to work and my mother doesn't drive. How can she participate in the Senior Lifestyles program?

We have buses that can pick her up in the morning and bring her to the center and then take her home in the afternoons after lunch. The bus has a handicap lift if needed for wheelchairs. This service is available to Mansfield residents only, subject to address verification.

14. I cannot afford to pay for my lunch. What are my options?

The recommended lunch donation is $2 for seniors age 60 and over (or the spouse of someone the age 60 and over) and $6 for persons 59 and younger. No senior is turned away because they cannot pay.

15. How do I make a lunch reservation?

You may call the Mansfield Activity Center from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. to make a reservation for lunch. It must be called in by 10 a.m. the day prior. Many times we have cancellations and you can call or come the day of and expect to eat most times. We also have clipboards with each day of the week labeled that you sign up on at the reception table.

16. Are the meals prepared at the Mansfield Activity Center (MAC)?

No. A central kitchen prepares meals for 32 other senior centers in Tarrant County and delivers them to us daily. This nutrition program is partially funded by the Sixty & Better, The United Way, and the Area Agency on Aging.

17. How do I rent a pavilion?

Many of the park pavilions are available for rent. Pricing and policies are listed on our Rentals page. Park pavilions may be booked online with a free MAC online account, which can be created here.
