Summer Reading Club 2022

SRC 22 Newsflash

Summer Reading Club is the biggest library program of the year. Mansfield Public Library has so much to offer this summer. So get ready to read, log and win! Summer Reading Club kicks off on Saturday, June 4 and runs until Thursday, July 28. All ages can sign up to log reading minutes and activities that go towards some awesome grand prizes.

What is the Summer Reading Club and why is it important?

Summer Reading Club is an engaging learning program that encourages all ages to read over the summer for prizes and discover new things by attending library programs. Everyone is invited to join in the fun, young children to adults. There is a large body of research demonstrating that summer slide can cause students to lose 2-3 months of learning, even more for students in low income families without access to books. Now is the time to sign up for our Summer Reading Club and beat the summer slide!

How does it work?

  1. Login to your existing Beanstack account or create a new account for yourself and the whole family using a computer or mobile device.
  2. Log all reading minutes and activities.
  3. Earn digital badges and tickets for grand prize drawings.

Summer Programs

Summer programs are back in-person! We’re excited to offer something for everyone this summer like Minute-to-Win-It for teens to Self Care for adults. Our Wednesday performers are back and bigger than ever too! Shows like the James Wand Magic Show, Pirates: Lost at Sea, or the Creature Teacher will be held at the Mansfield Activity Center gym, 106 S Wisteria Street, to accommodate more families. Check the location of each program because locations will vary.

Make sure to check our calendar to see what programs require registration. As always registration opens up two weeks before the event at 10 a.m. If registration fills up, you can sign up for the waitlist to be contacted if there are any cancellations.

Check out the full program lineup and register at mansfieldtexas.gov/calendar.

Temporary Library Closure

The library building will be temporarily closed starting May 31, 2022 due to our construction and renovations with an estimated reopening in fall 2022. Programs and services will still be offered during the closure. Check out books via curbside pickup, the library holds locker, or any of our digital e-books or e-audiobooks. All reading counts! Learn more about the closure here.
