    Rainwater harvesting is great for North Texas because you can keep some of the rain we get during the spring and fall to use during our hot and dry summers. Even a small roof area can produce a usable amount of water during an average rainfall. From huge cisterns to small DIY barrels, capturing rainwater can be done by anyone. Join our free online workshop to learn how, and then pick up a rain barrel to take home! Rain barrels are limited to Mansfield residents only as supplies last.

North Texas has a long growing season that accommodates many different types of vegetables. Growing your own at home can be easy when you know what to plant and how to care for them to get the juiciest harvests. After class completion, Mansfield residents can pick up a free "Pizza Garden" on April 23 and 24! Each Pizza Garden will contain a tomato plant, a pepper plant, and an herb. Register and attend the class to learn more.

    Take a break from the hiking trails and get on the water! We will go out in dual-seated kayaks along the creek on Lake Arlington. Participants will enjoy a scenic paddle looking for wildlife and plants with a naturalist. We will also instruct on safety, proper techniques, and a eco-friendly approach to paddle. Each child ages 7-17 years must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

    Night time is feeding time for the lunkers, so come join us for an evening of fishing! Since we will be targeting catfish mostly, we will be teaching some different rigging techniques for that style of angling. We supply the equipment and bait!
