Communications

Police DispatcherThe Communications Division is a 24 hour 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). It serves the cities of Mansfield and Kennedale which is a combined total service area of approximately 45 square miles. The Communications Center handles dispatch services for the police and fire departments in each city to include answering 911 emergency calls, non-emergency calls and administrative phone calls. They also ensure every call is routed to the appropriate service for response.

The division is responsible for fielding requests for service or assistance from other agencies, maintaining data entries into the Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC)/ National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and relaying information to emergency responders. The center handles, on average, 85,000 calls for service annually.

Certified Telecommunicators

All communication officers are certified Telecommunicators through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
