When a person is arrested for an outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrant, he or she may be able to post a surety or appearance bond to secure a release from jail while awaiting a hearing on the case. If the defendant has an outstanding capias pro fine warrant, only full payment of the amount owed is acceptable. Learn more about bonds.
If you are unable to pay your citation(s) or warrant(s) you may request an alternative to full payment. For example, paying the full amount at a set later date, setting up a monthly payment plan, requesting the Judge to determine if you qualify to perform community service in lieu of payment, or to have the amount assessed waived in full or part, or a combination of any of these. You must contact the court to request these alternatives.
