Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the plants and the flowers, the birds and the bees, and all the things that grow around us. Watch for new ways to explore the wildlife right here in Mansfield as we get your hands a little dirty and the Earth a little cleaner all month long! This month's activities are sponsored by our friends at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
Roots & Wings Photo Contest
April 1-May 7
Help us capture the magic of spring! Enter your photos of flowers, birds, bugs and...of course...butterflies! by Sunday, May 7 for a chance to win. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories and age groups; submit as many as you like, then come to the Monarch Festival on Saturday, May 13 at Oliver Nature Park to see the winners revealed! Bunny Brunch

Bring your little bunnies for a cotton-tailed morning of fun making crafts, eating breakfast and visiting with the big bunny himself! Click here to register.
Rock Hunt
Friday, April 7 at 10am
They're cheaper than eggs, last longer and a lot more fun to hunt! Join us to paint and then hide rocks along the linear trail. Find some to keep and leave some for others. Free event; preregistration recommended. Click here to sign up.
ONP Community Planting Day
Saturday, April 22 at 9am
Help us preserve our jewel of a nature park for generations to come by participating in a community-wide planting day. Bring your gardening gloves, hand tools and elbow grease as we work together to get the park ready for spring! Kids are welcome but parents must stay onsite at all times. Preregistration is required due to space constraints.
Earth Day Mansfield
Saturday, April 29 at 10am
Earth Day Mansfield is one of our favorite events of the year, and we can't wait to see you there! Hosted by Keep Mansfield Beautiful and the Environmental Services team, the free festival includes crafts, hands-on activities, entertainment and more at the Chris Burkett Service Center, 620 S. ONP Monarch Festival
Saturday, May 13 at 9am
The biggest event of the year is almost here! Join us to celebrate our favorite wings of spring...the monarch butterfly! We'll have crafts, games, science and nature education, guided hikes and--new this year--a butterfly house you have to see to believe! Offsite parking at Willie Brown Elementary School with free shuttles running to the park continuously from 9am-12pm. Free event but registration is recommend; click here to sign up.
