Katherine Rose Memorial Park (303 N. Walnut Creek Drive) has been a community favorite since it opened 25 years ago, but has yet to see any major upgrades or renovations. The park was marked as the number one priority in the southwest quadrant in the 2020 Master Plan due to the high visibility, high use, sentimental value and facility age. Mansfield City Council allocated funding in May 2021 to bring some exciting updates to this beloved park.
Based on feedback from community engagement during the master plan, the renovation will include a new destination playground, with features and amenities unlike any other park in Mansfield that will be a source of pride for residents and attract visitors from around the area. The new playground will be optimized for kids of all abilities to play together.
Staff will present preliminary concepts to the public when available and gather additional feedback before finalizing the design and proceeding to construction, but we welcome any comments via the form below throughout the process.
Expected completion Summer 2022
Project documents and presentations will be added here when available; check back soon as the project continues!
