Walking Tours
All walking tours begin and end at the Mansfield Historical Museum and Heritage Center, 102 N Main Street. Brochures for each tour are available at the Museum free of charge.
The walking tours will take you past the homes of some of Mansfield's leading citizens - past the landmarks that made Mansfield what it is today.
Featured Sights
Several of these buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places or have other historical markers. You can learn about the Mansfield Male and Female Academy and the town's link to the railroad.
See an original bank safe from the late 1800s in one of the downtown businesses, and later admire the homestead of Ralph S Man, one of the founders of the town.
You'll find a couple of nice restaurants and snack options on the tours. And, especially on the Central Business District Tour, you'll want to allow some extra time to stroll through the unique shops downtown and enjoy the over 50 murals, sculptures and public pianos (the Mansfield 88 Project).
Parking
Free parking is available at various public lots within a block of the Museum. Street parking is legal everyplace that is not marked "No Parking", so make yourself at home.
Additional Information
The volunteers and attendant at the Museum are always happy to answer any questions that you may have.
