Explore Mansfield Bike Routes

Bike Map Master Plan_Completed_2019In 2014, the Mansfield City Council and the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation adopted an On-Street Bicycle Master Plan to make the city a more bike-friendly community and provide residents with avenues linking bikes to Mansfield parks and their extensive trail system.  Following public input to the park board and city council discussions, an initial implementation plan was developed that provides for public education, signage and designation of routes and shared lanes throughout the city.

The map above shows current trails and bike paths available within the city, as well as proposed future expansion. Read the full master plan on the Bike Mansfield page, and contact our park planning staff for more detailed questions about the expansion plans.

Biking in Mansfield Parks

Biking is allowed on concrete trails and paths in any of Mansfield's parks. The Walnut Creek Linear Trail, with two miles of 12-foot wide paths that connect five parks, is the most popular destination for bicyclists. Please note, it is also popular with walkers, joggers and strollers so we advise all guests be aware of their surroundings and courteous to others as they travel.

Biking is not allowed on any off-road trails or areas of Mansfield parks. This includes the decomposed granite paths throughout Oliver Nature Park or any undeveloped parts of Oliver or other parks.

Skateboarding in Mansfield Parks

Clayton W. Chandler Park has Mansfield's first and only skateboard plaza, a small skateboarding park within the park. It is designed for skateboards and scooters only. All other skateboarding must remain on concrete paths within the parks; no tricks are permitted on benches, walls or other park features & amenities.
