The Friends of the Mansfield Public Library is an independent group of volunteer library supporters, organized as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. It provides additional funding for the library through its book store and other fundraisers, and assists the Library Advisory Board by advocating public library service before the community. While they do not take on the legal responsibilities of the Library Board, they have supported the library since 1965, have been integral to construction and furnishing of three public library facilities, and continue to support public library activities. Many Library Advisory Board members are currently, or have been, members of the Friends of the Library organization.
To join the Friends of the Library, pick up a membership form at the Library. The Friends regularly meet at the library. For information on the next meeting, please call the library at 817-728-3690. Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. There are no meetings in July, August and December for the Friends.
Programs Sponsored by the Friends:
Drop your used books off at the library. Our biggest source of funding comes from used book sales in the atrium of the library, so donating is a fantastic way to help the Friends and the library.
Each year the Friends of Mansfield Public Library participates in North Texas Giving Day. Help the Friends of Mansfield Public Library support your local library and make a difference here at home. With your donations, we can do much more and create a stronger community and a thriving library!
Any donation amount makes a difference! For example:
> $25 provides a Summer Reading Club prize that gets kids excited to read and help prevent summer learning loss
> $50 provides 25 children with a STEM Club activity
> $100 provides craft supplies for Home School Art Club for an entire year!
